Sharjah, UAE – June 2, 2025 – The American University of Sharjah (AUS) conferred an Honorary Doctorate of Science upon Prof. Manahel Thabet during its Spring 2025 Commencement Ceremony, recognizing her exceptional contributions to quantum science, economics, and global innovation diplomacy.
Prof. Thabet, a Saudi scientist and economist, currently serves as the Special Envoy for Science and Technology to the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, leading initiatives across 56 countries. She is also the President of the Economic Forum for Sustainable Development and an advisor to King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST).
Her pioneering work in quantum mathematics and financial engineering has earned her numerous accolades, including the Tech Diplomacy Award 2024 and the Arab Woman of the Year Award 2023. She holds a Guinness World Record for conducting the largest memory lesson and is ranked among the 30 smartest people alive by SuperScholar.
