electronically and quantum-biologically active molecule. <br \/>MDPI<\/p><p>According to the authors, DHA\u2019s unique chemical structure (six conjugated double bonds) enables delocalization of electrons, forming an \u201celectron-rich matrix\u201d in neural membranes that \u2014 in concert with proteins \u2014 may support ultra-fast signaling, recognition, memory, and cognition. In this view, DHA provides a quantum-optimized substrate that may underpin neural information processing. <br \/>MDPI<\/p><p>The paper argues that the extreme evolutionary conservation of DHA in nervous-system membranes \u2014 unchanged across hundreds of millions of years \u2014 reflects its fundamental importance.
