Initially, the IBCHN was located in the Pathology Laboratories at Hackney Hospital and collaborated with The Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), run by Professor Kate Costeloe at the Homerton Hospital and then the Hayward Research Building, Queen Elizabeth Hospital for Children, Hackney, London.
